Yovetich, at 7 :30 0' clock P.1~. ~ on I~:on~.ay June 19, ~9?2. Upon taking ro11 call, the following; aldermen ~nswer~d present: Tom Hard Tom. Kilpatrick E. H. Eber~viller, fir. Bob Burns I3uane Behm Ervin I~`.ietzger The iri_nu.tPS of the previous meeting of June were read. Potion was made by Burns end seconded by M etzger that the minutes be approved. T~otion carried. The ninutes o~ the Special Y~ieeting of June 7, on the matter of City County Planning were read. Motion way made by n~etzger and seconded by Kilpatrick that the minutes be a~?proved. l~iotion carried. The minutes of the Special Meeting of June 7, coneern~.ng the wage negotiations were read. lotion was made by Metzger ~.nd seconded by Bu~n.s that the minutes bE approved. Notion carried. Certain reports of the Ca.ty of Laurel, were pres~:nted for approval as follows: City Clerk's Cash report,, City Clerk's Trial ~~nce~ and City Treasurer's Fin2.ricial Statement. 6~ith a correction to be made on the City Clerk's Cash report, motion was made by Ebersvi.ll.~r end seconded by Rehm that these reports be approved. Several aldermen commented on the two deputies stationed in LPUre1~ and expressed our need fox them.. They stated that they h~.ve been very cooperative with ou.r police force. h'~ ayor Yovetich reported that he h~:c1 Sent a telegram. to the Niaynr of Ra.p3.d City, South Dakota, offering help fror;: the City of Laurel. He then read a telegram from the I~~ayor of Rapid City, thanking us for our offer end Mated that donations would be appreciated. Mayor Yovetich stated that he had opened an account at the Yellot~Tstone Hank w3.th dona.t~.ons over `>100.00. He stated that he would like to see thy; City match the amount ~h~t is collected. Mayor also reported that people h~.:cTe been bri.n~ing blankets to city ha13, Gnd the Lad~.e5 Soft Ball Teem and the Girl Scou,~s axe canvassing the city for b1Gn.kets and personnel items. Mayor reported on dog licenses and stated thzt we h~zre sold 13~. more this 3Tear than last year. ~e stated that he still intented to have the door- to-door campaign. !I III I!I i Minutes of the Gity Council of Laurel ~I Mayor Yovetich reported that h~ had talked to the County Com~r?issioners concerning tY~e s~.nitaxy landfill. He stated that they are willing to corr~e up anti meet with the council to deterr,:i.ne a solution to this problem. ~~avor stated that the Street €~nd ~±lley Con;rr~~ttee had repot±,~d that the alley behind Scott's Cleaners w~.s deteriorating due to es~ca.~~in; steam. Letter should be wr~..tten to ~cott,'s expla~_nin~ the situation and reruest that this matter be corrected. Kilpatrick reported on the Riesin~er property on first ~.tre. He stated that there was nothing in the minutes explaining wh~T this ~;xtra footage was never completed us street. Kilpatrick sug;ested paving this block and put up a "No U Turn" sign. He suggested a letter be written to the Ftefi.nexn~- thanl~-ing them for their help and cooperG~i.on. Fbersviller again asked about dunk cars. Lenha.r~dt reported that they are looking for some place to store these cars. Ebersviller presented a proposal from the wage negotiation comr,~i.ttee ~.s follows ht~,ge Proposal for the year of July 1, 1972 thru June 3~, ~973~ (1) ~ra~e increase of 10~ per hour. (2) .Adjust wage stile to not more than a 25¢ per hour spre~.d between clGssifications. (3) ~ta.rt a Longevity program for City employees not now covered. Suggested formula, as followse X1.00 per rronth for each year o£ prig service and X2.00 per month for each year o~ service there- after up to 15 years or X30.00. _ (1~) ~3~.00 pickup allowance for sew~.~e disposes supervisor. Burns reported that the c3_ty needEd another tractor for mowing ~t Riverside Park. Rehm reported receiving a. letter from Con;r~ssman hielaher ~s being in f=avor of supporting HB 11 374 concerning the State and Loe~,l ~'i~cal lassist- ance act. Behm ~.sked Ebersviller if he had talked to Bob Cunningham, Yellowstone County Purchasing Agent, concerning the E.E.A. Metzger reported on City L~cense~ and stated that all aldermen should study the License situation. A complaint was received about the parking situation at the corner of alder end 6th St. Lenh~rdt reported on this. Daley reported th~.~ the grandstands in P,-thletic T'axk are in very poor condition and wondered if they should be used for the 1~.th of July celebra- tion. ~:t was suggested that the firemen move their displt~y to the south aide of the park axzd seat the people on the North. This matter referred to Da.l~y, dark Co~ru~_ttee, Fire Chief and Police Chief with authority to act, Daley gave the council an estimate on the`_eo5t o~ blacktoppin.g the parking lot across the street from city hall. The figures ran from ~200.0~ to ~3,0~0.00 for paving, and $4b~•00 ±-:or curbing on the 4~est. It was ~ug~ested ~uttin~ in the curb and gutter now and do the paving a step at a time when funds are available. Lenhardt reported on Thay-ne Rapp'S trailer court.
