A regu3.ar me~:ting of the C3.ty Cauncil of the Cit~* of Lanrel.~ Montana,
was held in the Council Chambers, and was called to order by Mayor Laui~ M.
Yovetich, at 7x,30 o~cloek, P.Ni., on ~londay, February 7, 1972.
Upon taking ro11 ca1.1, the following 2ldermen answered present:

T~inutes o.f the prev3.ous meeting were read. Motion was made by
Eber~vill~r and s~cond~d by Burns that the minutes be approved as read.
Motion carried.

Reports of the patrolm~;n were presented for ~.pproval. Motion was
made by Ebersviller and seconded by Behm that these reports be approved.

setter was read from John ~T. Daley requesting that the City pass
a resolution to extend the City Limits to include his property.

Mayor read a letter From the State Board of Health.
Mayor read a 1ett~r fro~r~ the ~3i11ings Chamber of Commerce, asking
that he appoint two persons to serve on a committee to study the feasibility
of improving; and developing aCity-County Health Department. He reported that
he ha.d appo3.nted Nrs. Ruth }3ailey, and Leonard tivollan, and that they had 1?oth
~aecepted.
Mayor reported talking to A~arvin Carter about whither or not he
wished to continue to serve on the Air Pollution Board. Carter stated that
he would prefer to stay on the conu~.ttee.
Ira Rodgers reported 3.11 at Deaconess Hospital, and City C1~rk
instructed to send a card.
alderman Parker reported. that the City Attorney had prepared an
Orc~i.nance involving tak3.ng the Ambulance personnel into the A1ix3.1iary Police,
but that he wantec? the entire Ambulance to go over this item b~;for~ presenting
it t~ the council.
Parker reported that there is a group who wished to usE Riverside Ha11 on a Saturday Night and a ~unda~T i.n June for a dice and a ~,iddler~ a
Contest. Th3.s witY?. an advance sale o.f tickets, and the purpose is to ra3~e
money for the .Ambulance. After discussion, it was suggested that the date
be made either the last weekend in Mai or the f~.rst week-end in September,
.since the City his a policy not to let the Ha11 from Nyemorial ~a~rto Labor Day.
Parker reported that h~: would like to call a meting o~ the r~-
~pportionment committee which includes Behm~ Rodgers' Fbersviller .for Monday evening, February 1~.th, at 7:00 P.Ni.
Eberg,ril~c~r stated that there was sti11 no agr~;em~nt with the Po1ic~
on the working agreement. After discuss3.on, the M~.yo~ stated that he is going
to have this thing settled given if he has to call a special meeting of the
entire cotaxicil~ and stay until it is settled. Committee to make one more try.
There was much discussion as to the emergency snow removal situation..
l3radle~r reported on this money transfer matter. after discussion, Resolution
No. 7.x.18 was pr~~entec~.

RESOLUTION N0. 1l~19, BEING A FtESC~I.,tJ'l'IQPJ TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDS 0~' THE CITY ~JF LAUREL, NiONT.ANA, was pres~:nted as follows: Transferring the
sum of Five Thousand and no/100 ($s,000.C30) Dollars from the Insect Control
Fund to the Street Fund, this stun to be paid back from the first available

street Fun.~ls. This for the purpose of emer~en~y snow removal. Motion was
made by Eber.~viller and seconded by Burns that this Resolution be de~~.ared passed end adopted. Motion carried.
AZ.e9.erman Burns again stated. that Frank Sriith, this Superintendent of
Parks, should be used in other departments durin.¢ inclement weather, end
consequently bps pa3.d from other funds to relie~`e'the f3.nanci~.l tension in the
Parks. mhe Mayor then appointed the Park Cc7mmittee to work sozneth~.ng out with the City Engineer and Smith.
Alderman Behm reported that investigation of the light bill at
Athletic Park resulted in a recommendation that the School be billed for
$14.00 per gamy plus scrimmages, and plus the actual light b 11. Motion w~.s
duly made and seconded to accept the reco~rrmendation of the commi.tt~e. I~o~ion
carried.
P~etzger reported on certain amendments to the garbage charges. C3.ty
Clerk to have cards printed. :after discussion, Notion was made by Nletz~er and
seconded by Fbersviller that the new rates be approved. A2ot~on carried w3.th
Kilpatrick voting '"no" .
Daley stated that he had talked with 1~:~yor ~Jllard Fraser, and th~.t he had asked that the Fa~~rel Gity Crn ncil pays a resolution Mating that the
City of I~aural would life to be kept informed a~ to the status o~ the Calamity
JanePro~eet. Bradley to be told to mw.ke this resolla.tion. Motion wag made
by Parker and seconded by Burns that this resolution be presented at the next
meting. Motion carried.
Chef of Police reported that the Governor's Crime Control Cc~mmi..ssion hid turned down Laurels application for a grant to remc~~.e1 the City Jail.
Gaston asked that a fence be put up on the corner by Penney's and
the corner across the street to discourage ~aywal.kers.
There being no further business to came before the councils motion was duly made and seconded that the meetin, b~: adjourned. Motion carried.
