Yovetich at 7:30 o~clock, P.M., on Monday, January 3, 1972. Upon taking ro11 ca11, the followi.n~ aldermen an$wered present: Jackson F. Motion way made by Parker and seconded by Burns that the minutes be ~.pproved a~ read. 1~lotinn carr3.~d. Thy mi.nu~es of the previous special. meeting off' December 27th were read. Mot3or~ carried. Two police reports were presented for approval - Ander~o~. and Gerke. Motion way made by Burns and s~a~onded by Metzger that ~h~se reports be: approved. Motion earr3ed. The N~ayor ~omment~d on the recent snow storm, and stated that people $hauld be p~,t~nt, since we ha~v~e neither the men nor equipment to b~ every place at once. The Mayor commended the Firs Depar~ZUent for the3.r work on the recent fire which occurred at the old Hageman ~ous~, and stated it was a wonder that the trucks could even reach the firs Zander these adverse condit3.ons. After discussion as to the hiring o~ outside equipment to take care of the snow problem, Jackson Parker stated that the City Engineer should be allowed some fl~x3.b315.t~ during this emergency. Mayor said the engineer should be able to use his gran judgment. Parlor then made the motion that the City Engineer be granted the authority to hire krugs or oth~rs~ if he feels it neces~a.ry. Seconded by Rodgers. Motion carried. The Mayor stated that the Library roof way leaking and must be shoveled off the first thing in th~± morning. Ths Mayor thin recessed the meeting for ten minutes and the entire council went ~o inspect this water situation. After re-convening the meeting, h~ told the City Engineer to get a couple of men to work right away to rectify the situation. A Mr. Ed ZaPrat~h appeared before the council to ask some questions r~;garding tr~i.l~r court being built by the City Eng3n.~er. He had ob~~:ct3.ons to having dirt dumped ~n a barrow pit in this vicinity and preventing what h~ feels ~s proper dr~.nagc. He objected to the closing of a certain road. in this vicinity. He f'F.el~ he should be notified of any City-County Planning Board meetings. He thinks there should be sehedul~d ~-ieeting~, and evexynne notified. City A~~o ~y reported on the function of the Board, and Mated that I~aPrath~~ problem should be talon to the Cotuity ~nrveyor. Kilpatrick Mated that hs: thought the whole problem is that L~,Prath is ob~ect~.ng t4 a tra3.l~r court being built along~~de hip property.
