November 20, 1973
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
was held in the Council Ch~nbers and called to order by President of the Council
E.H. Ebersv3ller, Sr., in the absence of the Mayor, at 7:00 o~clock~ P.M., on Tuesday, November 20, 1973.
Upon taking ra11 call, the following aldermen answered presen~z
mom. Hard Gay Easton Tin K3.lpatr ck Ervin Metzger
Bob Burns Henry C}a~ner
Thy Minutes of the prev3.ous meeting of Nov. 6, 1973, were read.
Motion was made by Burns and seconded by Hard that the minutes be approved. I
Motion carried.
The minutes of the Special meeting of November 12~ 1973, were read. Motion was made by Metzger and seconded by Gomer that the minutes be approved.
Motion carried.
A e1~.3m for 9 days siEk leave ~'or Ear1 Crow was presented. He wa.s
paid for half of his pick leave days last May with the understanding that the
other half would be paid at a later date. Motion was made by Kilpatriclt not
to pay this claim. Motion cued for lack of a second. Motion waa then made by Easton and seconded by homer that this ela3~ be paid. Kilpatrick Mated
that Ken Beven didn~t think Earl w~.s performing; all his duties and therefore
felt the motion should be defeated. Bradley paid that by law alcoholism dogs
not have ~o be ~eco~nized under sick leave. After much disaus~ion~ ro1.1 call
vote was taken with Hard, Easton, GExrter and Metzger voting "Yes" and Kilpatrick
Burns and Ebersv3.ller voting "No". Motion carried.
Easton reported that November 27th had been yet for tentative discussion
night for all the co~mittee~ and the non-sleeted citizen me~aber~. Motion way
then made by Easton aid seconded by Kilpatrick ~o accept this meeting night.
Motion carried. Kilpatrick to notify the citizens on these ecnnmittee~.
Burns reported buying some sprinkling pipe at an auction in Hardin.
Burris reported having 3~ or !~0 ga1.~. of rein at $6.00 per gal. and
~c~me cloth at~,75¢ per yd. left over frc~nn Riverside Park. Burns suggested ad-
vertising it fog gale. Easton Mated that the Fire Dept. might be able to use
it. Motion was made by Kilpatrick and seconded by G~n~:r that Burns talk to Dave
Powers and if the Firs Dept. doesn~t want it he should advertise it for ~al~;. Motion carried.
Burns r~,ported that Charles J~11y said he would take all old applianes~
that people wanted to get rid of. There are still things to be discussed in
the ccm~mittee.
~ale~r reported that the new dump was now open for operation. He said he hay also gent for information concerning a garbage r.f3~~N~R,
Metzger stated that Di171nan's Body shop is g~t~Ging clot of Junk cars
around them p1ac~ of busines,~. Bradley to ta11~ to them and tell them to get
rid of the ones that axe no good and close the doors and hoods on the others.
There being no further bu~ine~as to ec~e before the council at this time, motion was made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Gcap.er that the meeting
