Yov~t~~h at 7s00 otclock, P.M., on Tuesday, September 18, 1973. Upon taking roll ea11, the following ~.7.dermen an~wered.pr~:s~nt: Tam Hard tray Eaton Tcx~t Ifilpatrick Ervin Metzger Henry Go~xier The minutes of the previous meeting of Sept. 1973, were read. Mot~.on was made by Qc~+aer and seconded b~ Hard that the minutes be approved. Motion carried. Letter was read frcam the Hig~iway Department Mating that they would review the city's request for a light3.n~ project for the tanderpass. A thank you note was read fra~a the Billings Flying Musta~ gs. Thia club used our airport run~,ray for a' radio controlled mobil airplane contest. Motion was made by Kilpatrick and ~eeanded by Metzger to forward this card to ~Ghe Airport Corarni.~sion. Motion carried. Motion was ~nad~ bar Metzger and seconded by Gamier that Res- olutian No. 1lt56 be declared pa~~ed and adopted. Motion carried. Al Bond, Sanitariar~~ reported on the landfill situation. Deone ~i~h, a member of CCD, appeared befo~~ the council to report on the ~eetin~ with the school board concerning ar-i athletic ecxaplex. She stated that mater p1an~ could be drawn up for approximately to $IO,QOO,QO. The school, however would not be able to pay their share of the planning funds until after budget t~+ie 3n July. Mrs. Smith asked if e3.~y funds could be used .fur the master planning w3.th the agreement that the school distr3.ct would r~imbur~e the e~tg next July. The Mayor stated that he thought this was a good idea but more study i~ needed. Motion w~.s made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Metzger that the Mayor appoint two rnembe~~ of the council to meet with two members of the ~~hool board to study this matter. Mot~.on earri~d. Mayor appointed Gay Eaton end Bob Burns. Thy Vista girls reported that their supervisor way cc~annir~g 'up for ~ meeting on .Wednesday acid they would like to have John Day, Dcmna Kilpatri.ak and Lour attend this meeting. They stated that they had several. probl~ras but did not went to bring theme to the co~aneil ~t this time. At this time the Mayor ~,gked to b~ excusedr end turned the m~eti.ng over to Tc~m Kilpatrick. Eaton stated that he would like report from the city clerk con- cerning the meeti.n~s of the Montane League of Cities and Towns. Gcroser said that the underpays eras dirty again. He stated that th¢ curb and gutter was also in need of repair. This matt~:~ referred to the Streit and Alley Cam tt~e to come back with a report at the next Meeting. f~cymer reported receiving a thank you Hate from Blanche West for all the help she received during the la$t rain storm when she was flooded. Gom~r saa.d something should be done ~rr3.:th this property. This matter referred to the cc~ittee who is ~tudyin~ the drains. A drainage problem at the Catholic Chureh was also reported. Thy city crew to make a cheek of all the culvert for b~n~ drain pipes. Easton reported that Clarence gar~t has been appoin.teci Chief of the Aux. Police. Motion way made by Metzler and seconded by Gamer to accept thi.~ appointment. Motion carried. Kilpatrick stated that several alley approaches Head to be installed and maybe these could be added to the Resolution for curb and gut~er~. Kilpatrick asked Lenh~rdt sev~:ral questions concerning the 10aQ0 o~clock curfew. There being no f lier business to came before the council at this time, motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
