A re~u7.ar meeting of the City Gouneil of the City of Laurels Montana,
was held in the Council Chambers and w~ called to order by Mayor Louis M. Yovetich at 7:0~ o~elock, P.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 1973.
Upon tak3.ng ro7.1 call, the followi.~t~ aldermen answered pre$e~t:
Bob Burns Tam ~iard Gay Easton Chuck Rodger$ Henry t~Qner
Ervin Metzger E. H. Ebersviller, 5r. Tosa Kilpa~ri~k
The minu~te~ of the previous meeting of July 3, were read. Motion was
made by Metzger and seconded by Burns that the minutes be approved a~ read.
Motion carried.
Certain reports o~f the City of Laurel, mere presented for approval
as follows: City Clerkrs Trig]. Balance, City Cles~k~~ Cash report and City Tre~~urert s financ3.a1 Statez~ent. Mot .an was made by Ebersviller and seconded
by Hard ghat these reports be appro~red. Motion carried.
Reports of the p~tro7,n~e~ were presented for approval.. Motion was
made by Easton and ~e~onded bar K3.lpatr ck that these reports be a~rov~d.
Motion carried.
Mayor Yovetich reported a near drown3.n~; at the -swinuning pool. H~
stated that if it hadr~~t have been for the quick action on the part oi' the
].i.fequards this would have been f~:~~lity. A letter of ccar~endation to be
~r3.tt~~ to Joey Paeoe, .Teff Langlinais and Barbara Thurner for s~.ving this

ticular case. Mr. Stout and Mr. ,~i.th felt ghat they were not in violation
and asked that the Gity Engineer sta.~e th3.s prop~rtg. Da1e~r tc make a survey

John Sanderson, director of the Neighborhood Youth Corp, appeared before-the council to explain the r~eently approved WYC program,, and asked 3f
the city wo~a].d be interested in setting ~p a program for the p er. Burns
stated that he could use same boys in the p~crk. Cae~ittee o~ Easton, ch~.i.rman~
the- Persor~~l Co~nitte~, and Da~:ey to determine hc~w many enrollees the Qity
ac>u1.d use and get in touch with l~r. Sanderson.

Rodgers reported ghat the Ways and M~an~ Cc~mittee was still studying
the city loess and in~ura~ce policies.
Rodgers sak~d p~rmis~sion for Don Lenhardt to 1ea~re the Mate. Motion
was made by Kilpatrick and seconded bar Metzger that permiss3.on be granted. Motion
carried.
Burns reported on inject spraying end st~.ted that the cc~nmittee would

~d s~eonded by ~let~ger to accept the reevmt~ex~dation of the ccaaunittee. Motion
carried.
Gv~rer reported that the drains on the ss~uth side need cleaned before the streets are paved.
Daley presented m pe~i~io~ frame a Mr. & Mrs. Jffines Scla~ztzman ~t 21
Easy Maryland Lane. (C. of S. #~3q) They would like tc~.hook onto city sewer
and are willing to ease 3.nto the city. Motion ~~s made by Bins and ~eaonded
