SEPTEMBER 22, 1977
A special meeting was held September 22, 1977, at 4:24
p.m., of the Laurel City Council called by the Mayor. The
following were present:
Albert Ehrlick; Susan Carter; Tom Kilpatrick;
Harold Burns; Ervin Metzger; Don Meyers; Ron Massey;
Charles Rodgers; Dick Metzger; Ken Beven; Murr Isaacs;
Doris Poppler; Tom Bradley; Campbell Calvert; Donna
Kilpatrick; Don Lenhardt
RE: wage negotiations
Letter read from Ron Hildebrand dated September 21st
received by the Mayor at g:45 pm same date.
Letter read from Mayor to Ron Hildebrand written today.
Fact finding procedure outlined by Doris Poppler.
Letter read from Ron Hildebrand dated September 22nd
stating Union's intentions to walk out as of September 23rd
at 7:00 am.
Albert Ehrlick motioned to give the union what they want
and cut the work force.. No sec~~ad;:~ Motion defeated.
Doris Poppler suggested no sick pay without Dr's excuse,
. no vacations, no pay while striking, etc.
The Mayor stated that the city could survive a strike.
Discussion. The budget has been finalized.
Ron Massey motioned to stand with the Council's decision
of Tuesday night to get a fact finder and remain at our last
offer. Susan Carter seconded. Carried unanimously.
Special council meeting called for 4:00 pm tomorrow
afternoon.
Tom Kilpatrick motioned to reimburse management employees
for the "living out" expenses. Don Meyers seconded. Carried.
