A regular meeting of the City Council of the Gity of Laurel, Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and was called to order by Mayor Larry D. Herman,
at 7:00 o'clock, P.M., on Tuesday, August 2, 3.977.

LICENSE CONIl~lITTEE:
Motion by Alderman Kilpatrick: Ta accept the committee report subject
to the re-codifying of the Ordinances, and to be effective January 1,
1978. Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried.
INSECT CONTROL:
Alderman Ki3:patrick an the agenda. Mayor reported that there was as
yet no one certified to spray.
DOGS:
Alderman Kilpatrick on one particular dog and certain individuals.
Mayor declared this question out of order.
Niation by Alderman Massey:' To discuss this situation. Seconded by
Alderman Metzger. Carried.
The Mayor then cleared the roam for discussion. Mayor turned this over to the
Police Committee.
RESOLUTION N0. 158
BEING A RESOLUTION SETTING SEWER HOOKUP FEES FOR THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA.
Motion by Alderman Meyers: To adopt this Resolution No. 1628.
Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried, with Rodgers voting "No".
RESOLUTION NO. 1629
RESOLUTION CREATING: SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 97, AND DE5IGNATIONG THE
BOUNDARIES THEREOF.
Motion by Alderman Metzger: To pass resolution No. 1629. Seconded
by Alderman Meyers. Carried on roll ca11-vote.

SEWER MORATORIUM:
Motion by Alderman Meyers: To lift the moratorium on sewer hook-ups
effective in thirty days, under the new rate. Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried.

Motion by Alderman Rod ers: .That the minutes of the Police Committee
dated Jaly 25, 1977, be accepted. S~canded by Alderman Ehrlick..

PARK & RECREATSON COMMITTEE:
Motion by Alderman Carer: To accept the minutes of the Park and
Recreation committee. Seconded by Alderman Metzger. Carried.

Permission for Alderman Garter to 7.eave the State was granted.
COMPUTER•
The Mayor appointed a committee of Alderman Carter, Meyers and.
Ehrlick to look xnta implementing the city offices to a computer system.
MAYOR''S COMMENTS:
The Mayor implemented into the minutes the annual report of the
Yellowstone County Health Department.
Motion by Alderman Metzger: Ta give-the Mayor the authority to sign
a Statement of Assurances for the Revenue-Sharing Funds and to provide an audit
this year. Ordinance must be drafted that the City is paying the correct wages.
Seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried.
Mayor announced that the budged hearings would begin at a special meeting
at 4:30 P.M. on August 3,-1977.
There being no further business to come before the council at this
session, meeting was adjourned to convene later for a personnel meeting.

4. This includes destroying the dogs
5. Laurel would then be given credit for paymenfi, if dogs are claimed within 72
hrs. The person claiming the doo must pay the charges before receiving the

~ Sr. Citizens reserved marking spaces: Mr. Lee McArthur representing the Yellowstone
County fog the Aged requested that the Sr. Citizens be granted a reserved narking
space on Mont. at the intersection at Main St. on the west side of the barber
shop. They are to have a bus on tria? for 3 mo. paid for by the Ye1la~rstana
for 'the Aged funds. This wi71 start on Aug. 1. They would need the reservation from 9 am to 4 pm.
3) Co Ax: Jim Kellison reported that he would lire to have the Ca-Ax at the old police
station moved to the Safety Complex so that Channel 9 (emergency channel) can
be used.

Police reports of accidents: Kellisan requested that reports be made available to
insurance co~roaniss for a price. Price could be donated to the Police ~`und
for amm~anitioti.
5) Kellison requested that the Police Commission not meet with the Council Police Committee
unless there is something special they are needed for.
