September 21, 1976 A regular m~etin~ of the City Council of the City of L"aural, Montana, was held in the Council Chambers anc~. was called to order by Mayor L. M. Yov~tieh, at 7:Op P. M., on Tuesday, September 21, 1976. IIpon taking roll call, the following aldermen answered. present: Gad Easton Tom Kilpatrick Sue Carter Chuck Rodgers Ervin Metzger E. H. Ebersviller, Sr. Herman Michael The minutes of the precious meeting were read. M~tior~ was made by ~bersvill~r and. seconded by Me~zg~r that the zr~.nutes be approved as read. i Moti_c~n carried. Certain resolutions were pre5en~ed: 'I RESOLUTION No. 1567 I RESOL~'I'ION N0. 1 67 BEING A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE BOUNDAI~TES OF TFiE CITY 4F LATTRE;L, M(~1TAN8, to include Lots 1 through 5, B].oak One, end Lots 1 though 9 in Block 2, Laurel Ind~.~trial Park. Mot3.on was made b~ Ebersviller and seconded by Metzger th~.t this resolution be declared passed and adopted. Motion carried. ~soruTZOn~ pro. 1568 RESOLUTION N0. 1568, BEING A RE50LUTION EXTENDSNG THE BOUNDARIES dF THE GS`i'Y OF LAUREL, MONTAIxIA, TO INCLTJDE Lots 16, 17, i8, ~.9, & 24, oP B1ock (hze~ I' L~URMAC SUB1?IVISION. AQotion was made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Carter I that this resolution b~ declared passed and adopted. Motion Ferried. Otto Preikszas ap~aeared before the council. Dionne Smith reported on Summer activities. I, Richard Metzger reported on Garbage and ~Tater. Mentioned complaints in the business district about the garbage. The Mayor eked that Dicsk take a ~urve~ o~° the commercial district, and take another look at it. Street end glley committee to worm with Dick. Metzger spoke on the water line. City ~ttorne~ stated that the C3tg has signed the contract on this but that the railroad his not. Discus~ior~ of extending the water line to Laurel Gardens. This matter turned over to the Water Committee, by the Mayor. Chuck Rodgers asked council approval. of four metre men for the Firs Department, and listed Larry Dolechek, Norman Orr, :~;ar]. Linger ~.nd John Johnson,, Jr. Motion was made by Ebersviller and seconded by ~ilpatricsk ghat the above-named persons be approved. Motion carried. Michael brought up the sub3ect of islands within the city limits. Mayor read a letter which will be sent to all property owners of these islands, and the letter contains the recommendation of the eo~nmitte~. Motion was made by Ebersviller and seconded by Michael that the recommendation of the committee be accepted. Motion carried. x,~cK ~sarney appeared. bet ore the council to ask permission to set up a dieplay of turquo3.sc~ jewelry during the Saturday and ~t~.nday of the Herbstfest. Motion was made by Ebersv3.ller and seconded bg Michael that with the per~issiQn o,~ the Chief of Police, he be allowed to set up this display. Motion carried. City Attorney asked permission to a~,tend a meeting in Helena on October 2, 1974. Mayor sated that he should go. Perra:t.ssion granted. T'he Mayor read an Qrdinance creating the office of personnel d3reetor. Metzger and ~bersvill~r st~.ted they were in agreement with the or~.inance. 1~oti4n was made b~ Kilpatrick and seconded. by ~ber~viller that this ordin~,nee be adopted. The Gity Attorney is to re-write the ordinance and include the three items which had been deleted on first reading. Action to be taken at the next council meeting. Motion carried. Rodgers stated he had been checking on tape recorders. Montee reported on the C.I.P. There being no farther business to comp before the council at this tim~~ motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
