A regular meeting of the City Couneil of the City of Laurel, Monte, ~I
was held ~.n the Council Chambers, and was eall.ed to order by President o~ the
Council, E. H. Ebersviller, Sr., in the absence of the Mayor at 7:40 o~cloek,
P.~I.~ on Tuesday, Augu~t~ 3, 197b.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion was made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Michael that the ~ninute~ be approved ~s read. ~totian ~I~

A check from a business man for the amount o~ sewer ch~.rg~s on three
of his buildings way turned over to Kilpatrick as chairman of the sewer grievance I,

A letter way read frcx~ the Yellowstone County Air Pollution Control li
Board regarding an ir~cr~a~se in fees a~ Laurels s share. A representative of this
Board addressed the council. Ebersviller stated that it w~.s the Mayorts request
that the council wait until it receives the va1u~; of our mi11. After discussion,
mot3.on was made by Kilpatrick and seconded bar Michael that this znatt~r be tabled
unt3.l such time as the value of our mill is ~stablish~d. 1~otiAn carried.

Moticm w~.s made by Metzger and seconded by Eaton that the claims be allotaed.

l~iehael mentioned the need for a culvert on the cdr~er of lst street
and third avenue. H~ paid it would cost approximately $275. 0. Kilpatrick made a motion that th3~ culvert be put in. Dick Metzger reputed on this, a.~ well
as several other places that needed attention. Getting back to the problem
at hand, the motiAn way seconded by Metzger. There was di~~~s~ion as to
whether or not phis culvert should be plaeecl on the East or Wiest side of the
street. Easton stated that h~ would like to see this turned over to the street
and alley committee. Motion carried with Easton voting "no".
Michael brought up the subject of pa~i.ng the street after the water
line has been laid. Kilpatrick made the motion s~cond~d by Michael that the
city install a 2!~' gnat, b~.t if money is available to go curb to curb. This
is on seventh avenue frc~n Main Street to West Seventh Street. Motion carried.
Michael spoke on Cherry Hill Subdivision. He ~a3.d that he had talked to Dan Nazunann who stated that h~ was not interested in subdividing. Mike Mace
address~:d the council on the Na~arnann property. Montee spoke on this ~a~t~r.
Also Gamins. Gamins Mated the street eras 60~ . Montee says t ~ ~ 80' . Easton
made the re~ornrnenda~ion that Maryland Lang stay a~ it is. Talk about a ~~no access"
strip. Duch talk about a dog. After discussion from alma~t everybod~r, motion
way made by Kilpatrick that the council ~..llow a jog on Maryland Lane, and a 12 ~ alley on the south side of the property line. Seconded by Carter. Motion
carried.
Discussion of the frontage of the lots. Motion made by K3.lpatrick and
seconded by Michael to a11ow this particular ~eetion to have 75~ frcmtage and
a minimum of 95~ depth. Motion carried.
In regard to the Park d~d3.eation. The Park eca~uni.ttee made a dec$imn
to take $2,750.00 per acre instead of land, for the Park. Kilpatrick made this in the form of a emotion. Seconded by Carter. A~otion carried.
Beven reported on cost estima-~es for the ~.p-grading of the water plant.
Stated that a meeting with McCullough had. been re-~ched~led.
Bevan repor~~d ghat water and sewer lines in Mus~ray Heights Subdivision have been approved by tl~e State.
Kilpatrick talked on this.
Metzger reported most of the new garbage cans were out. I~~,

city try to get these vehicles. Mot3.on carried. Davy Powers to make the arran~e-
ment~. Motion eras made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Hard ~o allow Powers to u$e
his own judgment on the acceptance of these vehicles a~ the in~'oxmat3.~n cc~cae~ in.
Nation carried.

in the building of the sidewalks, curbs and gutters. Git~ Attorney explained
this. After more discussion, motion was made by E~.ston and seconded by Kilpatrick
that phis matter be turned oar to the build~.ng inspector and the City Attorney to core up with a solution. Motion carried.

John Cum3ns reported trying to have a meeting once a month at noon.
Murr Isaacs to buy the pizza.
Eber:~viller brought up the subject of the Rifle Club. Dione ~nith I reported on th3.s meeting. She said she wrote a letter to the Rifle Club asking
them to do certain thing. She hay not had a reply as yet. I

Michael and Easton requested perfnission to leave the State. Motion
was made by Kilpatricl~ and seconded by Rodgers that perm3.ssion be granted. ~
Motion carried.
Metzger brought up the sub~eet of the Employee ' Hospital Insurance,
and stated that tl~e Personnel Connnittee would like to take a look at it. Lenhardt I
stated that the only way it can b~? changed is with the majority of the Union
employees voting to change it. Metzger said he thought the Personnel ccxnmit~e
should inquire into it, for the benefit of the non-union employees. Motion
was made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Hard that the Personnel Gcxnmitt~e stay on top of this matter. Motion carried.

Motion was duly rr~ade and seconded that this Resolut3.an be d~~,lared passed and
adopted. Motion carried.
Them being no further business to cc~e before the council at this
s~~sion, motion wag duly made and s~cor~ded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
