A regular meeting of the City Counei.l of the City of Laurel, Montana, was
held in tie ~ouneil Chambers, and was ~a11ed to order by A~agor Louie M. Yovetieh~
at 7;00 o~clock, P.M., on Tuesday, Ju.1y 6th, 1976.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Mo-~ion was made by Hard ~I
and seconded by KilpatricI~ that the minutes b~ approved a~ read. Motion
carried. I
Let-~er was read from the City Attorney stating that the matter o~ the
$5, 900.0 supposedly owed tca the City-Counter Planning Bo~~d for Laurels I
share had been resolved and the money was not owi~ag.

Motion ~r~,s made bar Metzger and seconded by Hard that the ~7.sims be approved
for paym~~t. Motion carried.
Max~rin ~ax~t~r appeared before the council to discuss the Local Gov~rruur~ent
Studer Commission. Mayor stated that the City of Laurel haa~ never been
partisan Govern~aent.
Dione smith, Chairman of the Park Comnaitt~~ stated. that they had had a
meeting and 3.t was their deeis3on to ask that the COU~ci1 tPrminat~ the lease of the laurel R3.flr~ Glob. The l~a~*or stated that on October 21st tZ~3.s matter
way turned over to the attorney, the council of the whole, and other, and
that Mot~.i.~sg was dome. The Mayor said that the Rifle G1~b should pad the

Mrs. Smith stated that she was amazed at the amount of trash and litter
left in the Park after the Fourth of July celebration. The Public a~ a whop
was gu3.lty of littering. Boy Spouts acid Girl Scouts were ~pnunended for their
help iM eleanin~ up the mess.
Hard spoke on the ditches. Fenwiek appeared before the council ~,nd
complained about the Alder ditch running over.
Hard spoke on dogs. Also co~?plained about the Police ciepar~ment not
answering his ca11 about ~ disturbance, and being told that the Polio did not
pick up dogs.
Kilpatrick brought up the sub~~ct of appointing the following; to the Auxiliary Pol:i.c~; Patricia Ann Morrison and Clov3a Barndt. The Mayor stated
that he is the on13r one to make appointments, which means members of the fY.re
dep~.rtment, the poli~~ department and all others. A11 applications should
go through the Mayor. The applications were handed to the Mayor who thin turned
them over to the Chairman o~ the Po1ie~ Commission.
Kilpatric~t reported same obj~~tions to the sewer ~ha,rges, and asl~~d for a
meeting Monday, July 12, of the App~al~ Committee.
Kilpatrick reported. a ca11 he had received objecting to the modu~.ar hv~nes ICI
being pmt. 3n since they do not come up to spe~ifi~ationrs. He turned this matter

over to the building inspector. Mantes reported wee are forced to accept I
these homes as their pass the State specifieatio~.
Mantes repor~Ed on South Eighth Avenue, and turned this utter over to
the ~trect end Alley Committee. He reported that the curb and gaiter
~~ntion~d at the list council meeting has been torn out and replaced.
The Mayor spoke £fA building permit .
The Mayor spoke on Police Citations.
Utter was read from John J. Daley, City Engineer, Mating ha.s intention
to retire from the City of I.~ur~l~ Montana, on Augt~.st 1st. The Mayor stated
h~ felt th~.t dohn had done a good Sob, said wished ~.im Good Luck.
Motion was made by Lbersviller a~.d seconded by I~etsger that Johri~s letter be accepted. Motion carried.

Copy of a l~~ter sent to the Adams Brothers from K~;n Beven regarding the results. of certain tes~~ on sewer and water lines was received ar,~d placed
on file. The ~Isyor stated that both Dick Metzger and Ken Bevan were doing
a fine jab.
Gay Easton requested permission to leave the ~~ate. Motican way made by '
Eber~viller and seeoMded bar Metzger that permission be granted. ~Serbion
carried.
Copy of letter at~d Resolution re~ardir:~ certain moseys to be rec~iv~d '
in connection r~3.th the coal severance tax, and vario~zs other papers received
~d placed on fil.~. City of Laur~:l to receive $6,500.0 to be spent as
specified in the contract agreement.
There being no further b~~iness ~o comae be~mre the council at this ses~iQn, motion was duly made and s~cond~;d that meeting be ~ci~ourned.
