A Special mEeting o~ the City Council of the ~it~r of Laurel, Mont.,
was held in the Council Ch~rnbers, snd was ~a11ed to mrder by ~I~.yor L. P~. Yovetieh~ ~t ?s45 P.M., on Tuesday, r~~rch 30, 1976.
Upon taking rm11 call, the following alde~nen ~n~w~r~d presents

~hi~ mee~i~g was called for the purpose of discussing the garbage
si~uatior~, and to get council opinion mn the mew ~nach3.nery. K3.lpatrick thought
it might be worth three or ~otar hundred dollars to send sc~eane down to Alliance,
Nebraska. to investigate before ma.~i~.g a decision. Sevv~r~.l aldermen spore on
the matter. After diseu~sion,, the c~nr~ittee felt that it would not be out of
line to ra3.se residences $1.40 per month on the tax assessments, and the business cU.strict $2.00 pEr month. Then the cc itt~e would continue to study the matter
of the new m~:ch3.r~.er~ and try to crane up with an egui~Gable progr~n. The cyst of
the machinery on a l~:ase program s+tmu].d be appro~ia~ely $2,71~5.~0 peg mou~~~,
plug approxiiaatel~r ~1,1~~.00 for wages for one Haan and other incidentals. Motion
was made by Eber~viller and seconded by Hard th~.t the city try the new deal. for
one year. Motion ca.r~3.ed.
Referring to the raise on the garbage taxes ass stated above. Motion
was made by dodgers and seconded by Hard that this raise be put into ~ffeet, so
that asse~~ents can be processed in time for the tax rolls this year. Mo~ior~
carpied. F
There being no further b~sines~ to discuss on this particular ~ub~ea~~ ~otiors was duly made and seconded that the meeting be ad3ourn~d. Motion carried,
