Minutes of the- City Council of Laurel
April 3, 197
A re~ul.ar meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Mort.,
was held 3n the Cot~cil Cha~nb~r~ and called to order by Mayor L.M. Y~vetieh~
at 7s00 o~cl~ek~ P.M., on Thursday, April 3, 1975•
Upon taking roll a ll, the following aldermen ~.nswered present:

The minutes off' the previous meting 0f Mareh 18th were read.
Kilpatrick requested that the pars~graph stating that "Dione ~.ith and Donn
Kilpatrkek draw up plans for the responsibilities of the park board", be
changed t~ read "referred to the entire park board". Motion was made by
Metzger and seeanded by Gcimer that the minutes be approved ~.s corrected.

Motion was made by Eber~v3.ll~r and seccmc~ed by Metzger that the ela3ms be
allowed. Motion carried.

Monda~r, April 7th, at 7 z00 o~cloek, P.M.
Thy Mayor ec~ment~d on the election. H~ congratulated K3.lpatri~k
and stated th~.t he haled to loge Gamer.
Metzger reported ~th~.t the Personnel Ccar~mittee met and decided ghat
Dick Metzger d Ken Beven would return to th~3r old rate of pay as of March
25~h. Motion was made by M~tzg~r and seconded by Gamer. M~tian caxried.
Metzger a1s~ reported on Alley approaches. Str~~st and Alley C~rnm-
ittee study th3.~ matter.

Gcxner reported on the probl~m~ that the men are having regarding the
3.nstal.lation 0~ water meter. Kilpatrick marred ghat the Gity prepare hand notices to be presented to the property owners one week prior t4 installation.
City will s1.sm run an ad in the paper stating that anyone r~fu~i.ng installation
of a meter will be sub3e~t t~ water shut withmut further na~ice. Seconded by
Gamer. Motion carried.
Rodgers stated that he has mgt with the Arehit~;ct~u~a~. firYa ~f Link
Associates and have discussed the preliminary plans for the Fire Dept. - ~xibul~ne~ - Police Dept. Complex.
Rodgers also stated that a~ the water meeting the subject camp up
regarding homes with galvanized pipe. It was suggested th~.t an a,g~ee~ent
between the City and the property owner be reached so the City would n0~ have
to stand the less. Much discussion.

Ebersviller-asked if anything has been done regarding a dog catcher.

Kilpatrick repor~e~d on Murray Heights subdivision. Daley, McCullough
and Louie to sit up a meeting to discus, this matter further. '~I
Kilpatrick gave Dave McCullough permission t~ speak at RAtary.
Kilpatrick cca~nmented on the Burlin~on Northern~s sanitation refuge.
Motion way made by Kilpatrick and seconded by Metzger th~.t the council okay
the B.I . sanitation refuse. Mention earri~d.
Rodgers reported ghat the Env3.ron~~nta1 Sci~na~ G nission r~:quest~
the City's asgi~tanee in the study of the Burlington NArthern's Industrial
waste. Motion was made by Rodgers and seconded by Ifilp~trick-that the City ae~
on this request. Motion carried.
I~ilpatriek Mated that there is a chance t~ get add3.tional men to work ~ a, single project in the City. They-would be able to work on one job
till it is finished or until Jung 3t)th. Kilpatrick moved that we get these men
as goon a~ possible ~.nd get the pro3~cts going. Seconded by E~.ston. Nation
carried.

Hard. reported on the matter o~ garba~es pickup during a 3 dsy holiday,
Referred to the Planning & Improvement Ca~mitt~e.
Hard al~~ cc~mm~nted ors a situa~i~n that acct~red in La l~ where
anyone found shoplifting hay to go t~ Bi113.r~gs. He requested that Laurel have
its r~wn Justice Curt. Ki1p~.~ri~k moved that we writs a lett~.r t~ the County
Commissioners asking that court be held in Laurel at l~a~t once a week.
Seconded by Hard. Motion carried.
Lenhardt reported on a house being bu3.1t by Tcmn Prill on 8th Avg., and.
lst and 2nd S~r~et. I~ 3.s in violation ~f the building code. Mach diseussian.
Fa.]s~ershei~n reported that the bond issue had passed and them will be
much legal work and paper work to be dome.

time, motion was duly made ar~.d seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Mat3.o~
carried.
