A regular meeting of the Citq~ Council of the City of Laurel, Montane.,
was held 3.n the Counc3.1 Chambers and called to order by Mayor L.M. Yovetic~, at
7 s00 0' clc~ek, P.M., on Tuesday Mareh 1$~ 1975•
Upon faking ro11 call, tMe following aldermen answ~r~d present:
Tc^xn Hard (day Easton Bib Burns E.H. Eb~rsv3.ller, Sr. Chuck Rodger
Henry Gc~n.er Tian Kilpatrick Ervin Metzger
Thy minutes of the previous meting off' March ~.th~ were regd. Motion
w~.s made by Easton and seconded by Hard that the minutes be approved as read.
Motion carried.
Certain report. of the City of Laurel, Montana, w~r~ presented for
~.pproval as follow : City Clerks Trial. Balance, Gity Clerk's Gash Rep~r~,
~d the C3.ty Treasurer~~ Financial Statement, Nation was made by Eber~viller grid seconded by Metzger that these reports be approved. Motimn carried,

The Mayc~:•stated that he would 1ik~ to appo3.nt Jolsr~ Daley as City
Engineer. Kilpatrick stated that h~ hasn~t changed his mind about dmhr3, but
he feels the council sho~a7.d go on record as suppmrting Daley entirely. Kilpatrick would also like t~ see John work with thes committees as much as
possible. Pal~ersh~im stated th~.t at the `last Ch~nber of Camm~re~ meeting,

~ngin~er. Motion was made; by Ebersviller and seconded by Metzger to accept
the I~ay~rs appointment. Roll call vote was talon with Easton, Ebersv3.ller,
Kilpatrick, Burns' Gamer ~nfl Metzger voting "Y~s" and Hard and Rodgers v~tir~g

Easton reported on an Assistant Engineer and stated that they ta7.ked to a Harrold Roberts who has ~u~t grad~zated frca~ college. Easton ~~ated that
he and Daly balked t~ him and wondered 3.f i~ might be possible fir the city
t~~hire him through a Federal Grant program. Motion was made by Eaatan and
seconded by Rodgers t4 follow this through and stud~* it more. Motion carried.

Kilpatrick stated that Billings has a water ends and ~i~ feels ghat
the City of Laurel should adopt ~c~r~ething like tl~i.s. He has a copy f~can
Billings that he 3ust finished reading ~d would like the Mayors the al.derrnen
and Daley ~o re~.d it. He will pass it on to Daley first and h~ can give it to the Mayer ar~d ald~rm~n.

Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Ebersviller asked if we h~.d a dog catcher. L~nhardt reported on
this. Eb~rsviller asked if w~ ao~ald maybe put one oY tY~e new min on.
Rodgers reported that the young people in the ~.th ward woti].d like a~ lea.~t a half basketball curt.
Burns reported that he and Easton talked to Mrs. Sehlen7R about the
city awned lot 0n East Si.~ctY~. She way agr~eablc with $100. 0 b~.t she would
like scene of the dirt moved and leveled off.
Burns reported that the Baseball a~soeiation would like t~ use
Riverside Ha11 (free o~ eh~rg~) for a Bingo party to earn money for the
7.ittle le~.gue~. Does the Park and Recreation BAard have the authority to
rent out the hall without the councils permission? Kilpatrick made s
motion that the Park Board be a1low~d to rent the hall. It way suggested
that Dione Smith and Donner Kilpatrick draw up ~c~ne plans as t~ what are the
respon.~ibilitie~ of the park bo~.rd. Kilpatrick then withdrew hip ma~i~n. Lenhard~ report~;d on what ].ieen~es the Baseb~.l.l As~c~c. would have to have
in order to have a bingo pity.
Comer report~•d that there was a cemetery bard meeting la~~ week
and he was appointed chairm~as. Goner stated that the cemetex~r was in sad
shape ~d we should get ~vmeone up there tc~inorrow.
Jim Twexney reported to the council that yaurel has been approved
fmr thy: $3~,000.CO discretionary HtTD fund. H~ stated that Billings anal
Yellowstarie County probably will nod apply. Twcaney to continue working on
this.
Mr. Twcxney also reported to the council that FIU~ hay 1Q4 hou~3ng units available in the Billings Metropolitan area. He stated that Za~arel
is eligible to claim 30 of these uni~~,, and was wondering; if we would be
int~r~;s~Ged. in trying for thin. Thy Mayor to write a letter to the director
of I3UD r~guesting 3~ of thc+se units.

sam~one like E~.~to~ to ~o out and find a truck and take it to Oshkosh end
pick up the packer. the Mayor to do sc~m.e checking on this tatter.
Montee DeLuca, representing Timis Enterpriz~, appeared bef~r~ the
council to present a proposal for picking up garbage for thy: city o~ Laur~1. The cost would be about double as to what each resident is paying new. This
matter referred to cc~mittee for further study.
Ken Beven Mated that last August he and Dick Metzger were appoint~;8
supervisor . Now that Daley is back they would like to lrnow what their dut3e~
and responsibilities are. This matter referred to the p~r~annel e~mmitt~e.
Daley asked if he should draw up same sped for a ~ot~r grater.
There being n~ further business to ec~n~: before ~Ghe council at this
time, motion was made by Burns and seconded by Gcan~r that the meeting be
adjourned. Motion caaxried.
