Motion wds m~.cle ~ by Kilpatrick and seconcl.Pd by Hard that the minutes be ~.~prov~d as read. Mota.on carried. The minutes of the special meeting of August 28th were r~~d. Lotion. wig made by Metzger and seconded by Gomer that the minutes be approved as read. :Motion carriede ~Ree~uest from the auxiliary po~.ice for approval of R~n~y Glenn Beadle and Albert Charles Vance to be mF:nabers of the Auxiliary Police. Since the ch~:z~rman of the police comm~.ttea hid not ~~et arri~eTed, mot:i.on. was ma~.e by Kilpatrick ar~c~ seconded by Ge~ner that this matter be tabled until the next meeting. Motion carried. Rodgers hav9..ng arrived at the meeta_n~, Kilpatrick asked that the request of the auxili~.ry police be removed. from the table. Two 1a~.ies arpeared before the council to protest the amount of $15.50 for the water bill. Metzger brought up the sub~~ct of a bonus for. the boys who worked under the work study program this ~~m~mer. Motion. was m~.de bar- ~ilpatr~_ck Gnd. seconded 'off Rodgers that this matters be ,turn~d:~ over to the finance committee with authority to aet. Motion carried. Dione ,Srna.th appeared bFfore the council to ask that the council dry to find places in the city for the purpose of buuilding multi-unit buildings. She also asked .bout the E~.thletic P<rk lights. Mrs . Smi-t~h brought up the subject of the purchase of dirt for the parks. The perk commission has been quoted a price of 35~ per yard. Burns then reported that the dirt could be si-,ored by Ken Na.geman at a cost of ~1Z.00 per month. After discussion, motion was made by burns that these lots b~ advertised for. sale, - and that. the council n.ot accept any lower bids than the ~ppra.ised value. Seconded by Kilpatrick.
