Pa.lmersheim' ~ letter he recommended .that the matter of the ~Meadow7.ark Senior Citizen Development be tabled until further study in depth can be made. Motion w~.s made by Kilpatrick and. seconded b~ Dodgers that the cot:ncil go along with the recommendation of the zoning board and this request be denied. Mota.on carried~l:nanmot4sly. The A't~yor stated that he would li~c~ to appoint T~arr~~ Herman Rc Kent Harris to the Planning Board to replace Tam Bradley and. John Daley. Motion was made by Ebersviller and seconded. by Haxd to accept these appointments. Motion carried. Rodgers reported that the Public Safety Committee checked into the recent charges made by Mr. Bullis a}~aut the Police Depa.rtrn~nt. ~.odgers stated that the city ja.i1. ~.s no "~iil~tan Motel" but taking into consideration. whit the department has to work with, it ~..s doing an outstanding job. Rodgers stated th~.t the committee studa..ed in. depth the various charges m~.d~ bar I~L1I.~15 • Gc~rrier stated that the drains are plugg~ec~ and the city crew should be cleaninn them. Diek Michael represent3_ng the Laurel Gulf and Recreation Association asked if thef would be able to dump after the lst of September. The Ma,~or stated that after Sept. lst NO county residents will be ~.7..lpw~d to dtunp. Dione Smith, Chairman of the Park & Recreation C~nmission, reported that the green thiunb workers would like to work a~ winter but the parks don't have enough work to last through tha winter. Mrs. Smith was wandering if the city could find sc~nethin~ for them to do. The ~ayar stated that there would be lots of worl~ end we coup find sameth~_ng for them to do. Inez Vaughn ecjmplimented the City Crew for cleaning out the gutter in front of her place dtxrin~ the last rain. Ken T3even reported for Dick l~fetz~er ghat the new garbage truclti would be shipped on Sept. lst~ and the track loader was shipped on the 19th of Aug. for del~_sery in about Z to 7 days. Beven also stated that three gas tanks have been installed at the city shop. Beven reported that Chet Herbert is stil under Dr's care. Beven stated.tha.~ the Road to the Reservoir needs some gravel.
