Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
January 20~ 1976
phis meeting was held as advertised for the Public Hearing to
comply with H.U.D. on Pre-application fir a community develo~nent block
grant.
Present. ~t the meeting were all the aldermen except Tcrm Hard,
Jim Twomey, The Mayor, City Attorney, City Engineer, Dione Sma..th and
several interested citizens of the community.
The people in att~ndence at this meeting hid several suggestions
as to where to spend the money. The Mayor suggested reroofing the city hall building and the library. Dione Smith suggested fixing the dressing
rooms at the swimming pool. Tt was also suggested txiat the settling ;ponds
a~ the water plant be updated. Kilpatrick suggested that this money be
used for a new pumping station north of town.. Motion was made by Torn
Kilpatrick and seconded b~.~ Su.e Carter that the N~~~ror be authorized to
sign the pre-applications stating that the money would be used for the settling ponds at the water plant and a p~,unp station north of town. Motion
carried.

There being no further business to came before this meeting, th.e
meeting was adjourned.
