Thomson Park Shelter COMMITTEE
Date Feb. 7 1990 Time 2:00 pm
Place of Meeting City Hall
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Joe Bradley
Edna Schwenneker Angie Thom
Agnes Nordahl
OTHER'S PRESENT:
Jim Worthington
A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Joe Bradley presented letters from Montana Power, stating the
company has awarded an in-kind grant to furnish electrical
services at the time of construction, at a value of $440.
Angie Thom will write a letter of thanks to the company.
The Committee reviewed a grant request application from MDU
Resources Foundation, and completed the same.
Mrs. Schwenneker asked about holding another raffle, similar
to the one last year for the picnic table. Joe Bradley reported
that charitable raffles are governed by the County Commissioners.
As soon as we know what prizes can be donated, then we can
apply for a permit for the raffle.
Mrs. Schwenneker suggested holding a spaghetti dinner, bingo
night, cake walk and raffle drawing all on the same day. She
will contact the school board to request permission to use one
of the grade school cafeteria's.
Mrs. Thom reported on the state of the bank account: there is
$7,544.00 in the Laurel Federal Credit Union savings account.
She also reported on the progress of the Mile O' Pennies campaign.
A bit over 900 feet of pennies have now been collected. One mile
of pennies would equal $884.70.
The Committee will check with Donna Kilpatrick about grants
available from Deluxe Check Printers.
Jim Worthington met with Timberweld representatives. The
proposed building was widened to 50 feet by 35 feet due to
the size of the beams. They state that at least $10,000
would be needed to start construction.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 21st at
City Hall at 2:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Joseph'M. Bradley
