DISASTER & EMERGENCY SERVICES MEETING
MAY 8, 1997
Mayor Rodgers called the meeting to order and asked for input from
each entity.
Tom Benson, Montana Rail Link, said his main concern is for the
flood areas outside the city limits.
Cenex submitted a list of resources that they have. They also
stated that it takes approximately 3 hours for them to shut down if
the City cannot pump water. They don't have any emergency power,
but would not pump dirty water through the system.
Andy Loebe, City of Laurel, reported that the City has 5 dump
trucks, 1 loader, 2 backhoes and 1 patrol grader for use.
Cenex has a number of people that are certified EMI's.
The Search and Rescue has a jet boat, and are concerned about the
depth at the bridge.
We may be able to get high school kids to fill sand bags.
40 Larry McCann will develop a list of emergency numbers for our local
DES Team.
The team may get together a fire/police building so everyone is
familiar with the location of parks, etc.
