A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
The Committee met with Ray Hazen to discuss the damage
to the John Deere Scraper (G-4) done on October 6, 1992. Ray
was operating the scraper when the elevator quit operating
and he shut down the scraper immediately to determine what the
problem was.
It has been determined that it was the PTO shaft and
flywheel flange spine was stripped due to fatigue. By shutting
down the operation of the scraper so fast it may of saved the
City extra expense in repair costs.
The Committee also recommends with proper operating and
maintenance procedures that the scraper should last well into
the future.
