A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
Dave explained that he was called out onto a work site on
East 1st Street to repair a pin on a backhoe (W-3). He was in
a hurry while hooking up the power plant and didn't hook up
the safety pin in the pintle hook and while returning to the
shop the power plant trailer came loose and ran into the right
rear of Mr. Green's car.
The Committee recommends that in the future all City
employees use proper procedure when hooking up a trailer by
using safety pins and chains in place. The City needs to install
safety chains on all of the trailers with the City.
