A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
Discussed the backing of the garbage truck into the fence
around the garbage cans at Burger King. About $286.00 worth of
damage was done.
Discussed the moving of the location of the garbage cans.
It was determined that moving the location would be hard to do
and might not make it possible to have the location within the
public right-of-way.
Backing up creates a problem with their drive through
window and access onto Montana Avenue from the parking lot.
There is not enough room to turn the garbage truck around
with where the employees park on the east side of Montana
Avenue. Jim Worthington is going to check with Burger King
to see if it would be possible for their employees to park in
the regular parking lot.
Discussion on the backing of the garbage truck into the
side of the shop door, resulting in damage to an extension
ladder, and the door. Sue was helping move the truck and
misjudged the door and location of the rear of the garbage
truck.
From previous accidents a policy of having another employee
guide the driver while backing large trucks out of the Shop, was
set up. In this case there was no guide person when the accident
occured. The policy of having a guide person should be adhered
to at all times.
