PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE

1) Earl Tufty of Morrison and Maierle gave an update on the
proposed water rate increase. A single family customer charge
is proposed to be $19.60 plus a consumption rate of $1.10 per
100 cubic feet.
Discussion on what cost goes into the base rate and the
consumption rate.
2) System development fee being proposed is to be similar to what
the sewer system development fee is.
$750 for basic 3/4" metered service
$1000 for basic 1" metered service
$1000 for each additional inch increase in meter size
3) Discussion on Resolution to Council on February 4th to start
the process for a water rate increase.
Motion by Miles Walton, seconded by Dave Michael, to
allow preparation of a resolution for the February 4, 1997 council
meeting to start water rate increase process. Motion carried.
