City Hall Present: Norman Orr Smokey Staudinger Phil Curry Larry McCann Andy Loebe Miles Walton Gary Temple Others Present: Lorraine Craig Larry McCann needs to put out bids for the coating of the sewage digesters. They will advertise in a four to five state area. There is a need for the replacement of the foam pad and deck for the dome on the two digesters. Each digester will run approximately $12,000.00 and this is not in the budget. He proposed to do $12,000.00 in this budget. There is still money left from the hail damage storm of 1992 of $7,000.00. A motion was made by Smokey Staudinger to do one digester in this years budget. The motion was seconded by Miles Walton. The motion carried. Phil Curry brought up that the water meters at the Cenex Refinery were not working or damaged. Larry McCann said that he will contact Pat Kimmet of Cenex. Larry McCann reported that the fourteen-inch tap issue is through the City Attorney and the agreement is done. There was discussion about the reading of the water meters for treated and untreated water regularly by Cenex. There is a need to regulate the reading of treated water from Cenex. This lack of reading the meters is costing the City of Laurel about $2,500.00 per day. Cenex has helped greatly in other water intake issues to compensate for any differences. Phil Curry stated that the new construction by Cenex will be very close to the City of Laurel main water line. Cenex has agreed to give the City of Laurel an easement. Submitted by Gary Temple
