PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE
May 11, 1998 5:00 P.M.

Phil Curry presented a problem on west end water users with meter installation:
Need to use proper materials
Be installed as per plumbing code
Property on private line and outside of city
Gary Temple made a motion to have Joe Leckie review the problem as to code and
placement by the city crew. Bill Staudinger seconded the motion. Motion carried.
2. 615 Juniper: Meter tested correctly
Bill Staudinger made a motion to write Jutz a letter stating that the city is not going to
adjust the bill in question. The city will adjust the siunmer average on sewer. Phil Curry
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3. Hanson's Health Center
Jeanette presented a request from the owner to have only one garbage charge on the three
accounts on said property. Dave Michael made a motion to charge the minimum garbage
rate of $10.25 per month for each account. Bill Staudinger seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
4. Reservoir
Larry informed the committee that the overflow on the old reservoir needs repair. Dick
Anderson Construction will do the work. Rain gutters will be installed on the cover on
the old reservoir. Bill Staudinger made a motion to recommend repair to the overflow.
Gary Temple seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dick Anderson Construction presented an additional billing fee of approximately
$10,000. Morrison Maierle and Larry McCann recommend payment of $7,500 of the
billing.
Miles Walton made.a motion to recommend approving change orders already approved.
Bill Staudinger seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Wastewater Treatment Plant
Larry McCann reported that the roof coating on Digester "l3" is completed and the
contractor will be coating the interior- in a couple of weeks.
Joe Leckie needs to review the agreement for rebid of Digester "A".
6. Delinquent utility billing
Gary requested information on the delinquent list. After discussion, no information was
requested and no further action was taken.
7. Jeanette requested guidance on the delinquent list and other guidelines on utilities
operations. Larry, Jeanette and Dave will develop guidelines and an ordinance for review
at the next utilities meeting.
