A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Due to recent legislation requiring mandatory jail time for D.U.I. offenders
Chief Crowe has been approached by the Yellowstone County Sheriff concerning
thier desire to use our jail.These would be low risk,minimum security prisoners
probably on work release.
The Committee discussed with Chief Crowe,the establishment of jail rules
to be followed by any agency desiring to use our facility.and set up the following
guidelines.
1315 per prisoner per day minimum.
2.Using agency to provide meals.
3.Prisoners must be "booked"by using agency prior to incarcerated.
4.Jail will only be available from 7 P.M.Sunday through 7 A.M.Friday.
5.Maximum 48 hour continuous incarceration.
C.. There was some discussion concerning the fact that Justice Court is
sometimes requiring prisoners to pay the cost of thier own incarceration.
We would be reimbursed by the Courts.This may require a budget revision.
The Committee recommends that Chief Crowe draw up a jail policy for approval.
