POLICE COMMITTEE

A. Members present: Chairman Chuck Dickerson

B. Other's present: Albert Ehrlick, Mike Atkinson John o nberg,
Rick Musson, Duane Bjerke, Joe Bradley, Bob Gauthier
A quorum 0 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
A. Discussed Don Lenhardt - S UC- L,*AACL-
1) Has approximately 7 mos. time.
2) Not sure if he'll be back or what his plans are.
Coverage: It is felt that since Don's sickness we do not
have enough officers to cover the hours. (This will be
discussed in detail at the next Council meeting on Oct. 16th.)
B. Leasing of patrol cars -
John Johnson would like to discuss a program with the City.
He will be invited to the next committee meeting. Duane
Bjerke will be invited also for input on the maintenance
area.
C. Complaint by local locksmith -
Doesn't feel Police Department should help people get into
locked cars. After much discussion it was decided the
Police Department would continue to give public service.
D. Police officers will continue to give assistance to ambulance
attendants.
E. Chief Crowe would like to see an incentive program started
for officers who want to stay in shape: More discussion
will follow at a later day when manpower is back to normal.
F.. A request was made for more equipment in the exercise room
which is in the budget. Committee gave approval to go ahead
and order.
G. New car should be in around the end of October. Cage has
been ordered and will be installed by Duane Bjerke.
Meetings have been changed to 1st Thursday of the month at 5:30
p.m., at Safety Complex.
Next meeting on November 1st.
