POLICE COMMITTEE
Date 1989 Time 5:30 P.M.
Place of Meeting FAP Complex
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Chuck Rodgers
Ron Marshall Alan Crowe
Chuck Dickerson
OTHER'S PRESENT:
Sharon Dunnihoo Curt Rieman
Frank Pelican Tom Christian
John Mohr D.L. McGillen
A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
John Mohr, representing the Locomotive Inn, Caboose Bar
and Little Big Men would like 24 hour gambling in relation to
card playing and video games.
The benefits would be more revenue generated, more jobs,
and creating more outside traffic for other businesses around
town. This extra revenue could pay for another police officer.
Other cities that have 24 hour gambling are Missoula,
Kalispell, Bozeman and Butte.
Questions raised were about the enforcement of liquor
after 2 a.m.
Darrell McGillen, representing Palace Bar and Lanes, told
the Committee of the state laws and penalties used if enforced
properly.
Other questions raised were security, manpower of police
department and hours on Holidays.
Joe Bradley told the Committee that the City had the right
to set how many days or hours.
Police Chief Crowe is concerned about the manpower and
back up, and how to finance the extra manpower needed. He is
short one officer now. Alan will check with other City's as
to the problems they have encountered with 24 hour gambling,
if there are any.
The Committee will meet Monday, December 18th at 5:30 p.m.
in the FAP Complex.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
