A quorum of three (3) or more members being present the
following business was conducted;
Mike Atkinson asked the committee for approval on the
following four requisitions;
1. $315.00 for the purchase of a TDD machine which is
now required by state law. This machine is for the
hearing impaired.
2. $695.00 for the repair of the transmission on Car
#2.
3. At this time an unknown amount. for repair to recorder
for telephone system at police station. This money
will come from 911 funds.
4. Permission to purchase books in the amount of $462.00 vQ
for a school that will be held at Laurel January 2-@th.u
We will be reimbursed by other local. departments
attending this school.
Motion made by Bill Brennan, seconded by Bob Graham to
approve these requisitions. Motion carried.
Mike informed the committee that he will be interviewing
for a new captain for the Laurel Police Reserve.
He informed the committee that he will start implementing
personal evaluations on all departmental personnel on a six
month basis.
Mike reported that Jim Morrison is looking into a program
(see letter attached) to install DRUG FREE SIGNS in the immediate
vicinity of local schools. The local school district has
indicated their willingness to support this program.
Mike was asked about ants in the station. The committee
asked Mike to contact local pest control businesses for possible
solutions.
Mike indicated the is working on revamping and coming up
with a new policy book.
Lengthy discussion was held on remodeling the work area
for dispatch. Mike and all members of the department.
Rick Musson commented about the condition of the floors
throughout the station. Mike will check into getting them
stripped and waxed.
Judy Woodring asked about placing local area maps so that

they are more assessable for easy reference.
The committee talked about utilizing and loading all
information from the master cards into our computer. He reported
that he has just received soft--ware. Discussion was held about
hiring a person to load computer

AND THERE IS A P:"SIBILITY THAT BUSINESSES WOULD CONTRIBUTE.
