A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by
the Committee:
Discussion regarding patrol cars, that the Department
is now in need of 2 new cars. One car was wrecked on August
30th and the City is awaiting the insurance settlement. Mike
Penne suggests that the wrecked car is not worth fixing up
to be used as a patrol car. Mike Atkinson stated that bids
are now out for one new car.
Mike Atkinson, Acting Chief, states that a bike rack is
needed for holding bikes at the Police Station. he will check
into having one made.
Light bars and radios are to be changed between the wrecked
car and the Chevy.
The flag pole is being fixed to hold the new flag.
Discussion on the accident that happened at 4th Avenue
and Second. Street. A big tree blocked the view. A suggestion
was made that this should go to the Street & Alley committee
for review.
Darrell McGillen commented on the job Mike Atkinson is
doing as acting Chief, and that they are working well together.
Officer Bryan Fischer was at the meeting and commented
on the accident with the patrol car.
Officer John Rosenberg commented on the new guns and would
like to show them to the Council at the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
