POLICE COMMITTEE MEETING:
AUGUST 11, 1992
5:30 P.M.
FAP COMPLEX
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Ron Marshall, Chairman
Lonnie Kellogg
Dan Lowell
Albert Erlick
Mike Atkinson
A quorum of three (3) or more members being present the
following business was conducted;
A discussion was held concerning the newly drafted personnel
manual. Mike Atkinson explained that enforcement will tie in
with both the existing union contract and City Personnel Manual
in regards to enforcement. Committee recommended that this
manual be referred to Joe Bradley and then to the Council for
approval.
Discussion was held concerning a revised animal ordinance
patterned after one that the City of Billings has in effect.
This was also referred to Joe. See attached.
Discussion was held concerning the purchase of a new patrol
car. It is possible for the City of Laurel to "piggyback" under
the State bid for patrol cars. Last year the City of Laurel
could have saved about $3,000 if it had gone this route. The
committee felt that this matter should be referred to Council
for discussion due to the fact that local auto dealers will
also be asked to bid.
The Committee discussed remodeling dispatch area. Mike
explained that with the recent purchase of the phone system
with 911 monies that this matter would have to wait until after
January 1, 1993.
Motion made by Albert Erlick, seconded by Dan Lowell that
the board for out of area prisoners be increased from $15.00
per day to $30.00 per day.
Motion made by Dan Lowell, seconded by Lonnie Kellogg that
both residents and non-residents be charged $5.00 for
fingerprinting.
Meeting adjourned 6:15 P.M.
