MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Marshall, chairman Albert Ehrlick Dave Slaymaker Lonnie Kellogg Mike Atkinson OTHERS PRESENT: John Rosenberg Rick Musson Rick Walter Ranier Grobauer Bruce Bonys A quorum of three or more members being present the following business was conducted: First item of business; Rainer Grobauer of Swift Systems, Butte, Montana, gave the committee a long and extensive demonstration of a proposed computer format that the department needs to store and retrieve information. He stated that departments in Butte, Dillon, Deer Lodge, Bozeman, Havre, and Whitefish have or are now contemplating using this format. The system is multi-faceted and appears to more than need the departments needs. The cost of this system is $38,000. For that price we would receive (1) Central File Server, (2) 3 work stations, (3) Color Printer, (4) Color Monitor, and (5) a CD Burner. Included in this price would be a three year warranty and training of all department personnel. A 10% discount would be allowed for an outright cash purchase. It was brought up that Northwest Banks do have low-interest funding available to municipalities. Discussion also involved 911 funding which would fall under part of this program. The representatives from Swift Communications were advised to forward proposals, specifications and other pertinent data To Don Hackmann, for the October ?., Budget and Finance Committee meeting.
