POLICE COMMITTEE MEETING
F'AP COMPLEX
APRIL 16, 1996
3:30 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Ron Marshall, chairman Mike Atkinson
Dave Slaymaker Rick Musson
John Minch
Mike reported that he had checked with Don Hackmann about
going out for bids on the computer system. Any purchases over-.
20 thousand have to go through the bid process. Software and
hardware can be considered separate, therefore the committee
can buy software from one source and hardware from another.
The committee directed Mike to purchase Software from Swift
Communications of Butte, Mt. for $9500.
Discussion was held on specifications for hardware. During
the meeting Dave called Entre Computer of Billings and for some
ideas for upgrades to our specifications. They will forward
them, with prices, to Mike very shortly. The committee agreed
that we are interested only with top of the line equipment with
a good extended warranty.
Mentiorrdwas the fact that 31 thousand is in the capital
projects fund. With $9500 being expended for software, the
remaining can now be used for the purchase of hardware, work
stations and maintenance agreements necessary to maintain this
equipment.
As soon as Mike receives information from Entre, another
meeting will be held, and we will ask for estimates from various
vendors.
