Police Committee
City Council Chambers
7:30 p.m. October 1, 1998
Attending: Dirk Kroll, Norman Orr, Gay Easton,
Smokey Staudinger, Chief Rick Musson
Others: Bud Johnson, Chuck Rodgers, Gary Temple
Rick brought before the committee a proposal to redo the Interview
room at the FAP complex. Several issues were discussed including use
of better building materials for the walls, a ceiling fan for the room to
reduce pepper spray remnants to coming back into the offices and
dispatch center, and steel benches that are bolted to the floor. The
committee wanted more information on cost estimates before giving
their approval on the project.
Paint for the FAP complex both inside and outside was discussed.
Rick would like the doors to be done especially with paint peeling Off
them now. Pick has talked about this with Fire Chief Jun Stevens and
they will work together on this.
Department Head meetings were discussed. Rick informed the
committee that they will meet before to discuss issues that concern all of
them.
The jail situation, the whereabouts of the Drug dog, Adopt a cop
and Neighborhood Watch programs, Community Policing Officers for
each ward, and parking near the football field at Thomson Park were
also discussed. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
