Attending: Gay Easton, Miles Walton, Bill Staudinger,
Dave Michael, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman.
Others: Howard and Angie Thom, Gail Brice, representing
the Laurel Garden Club.
Howard, Angie and Gail attended the meeting in response
to rumors they had heard concerning plans for the Laurel Chamber of
Commerce committee studying the improvement of the log cabin in
Fireman's Park to place a parking lot in the east end of the park. The
committee had heard of no such plans; but decided to invite the
committee representatives to the next meeting of the park committee to
bear its updated plans.
Members of the board of directors of the Laurel Dodger's baseball
organization and the Little League will be invited to the Feb. 27 meeting
of the committee concerning the two group's plans for improvements in
Thomson Park/Athletic Field this spring.
Donna will contact Jane Barnes concerning her plans for applying
for the recreation director position.
Advertisements will be placed in the newspaper soon for
swimming pool personnel.
The next meeting of the committee will be Feb. 27.
The meeting adjourned at 6 p.m.
