April 10, 1997
5 p.m. to 6:03 p.m.
Attending: Gay Easton, Bill Brennan Miles Walton, Bill Staudinger,
Andy Loebe, Larry McCann, fire inspector; Donna
Kilpatrick, chairman
Discussion on the baseball group's improvements at Thomson
Park. Jim, Andy and Larry had reviewed the plans and will continue to work with
the group.
Two requests had been received for selling concessions at the
Peaks to Prairie event on Sunday, April 27. The committee approved both requests.
One was from a high school group and the other from Search and Rescue.
Cory Cutting from KMHK, the Hawk, radio requested to be the
radio station for the Fourth of July but Miles said the fire department had worked
with the CAT in the past. We will check with Terry Ruff.
Miles moved, Sill Staudinger seconded that we recommend to
the council that the swimming prices, a booklet of tickets for $10 for 20 swims and
$1 per individual swim, remain the same. motion carried.
The committee reviewed the applications for lifeguard,
and recreation director and suggested we advertise again in the Laurel Outlook.
Miles suggested that at budget time we consider budgeting for
some playground equipment in especially Nutting Park. Others if we can.
Andy reported vandalism with the light on the concession
stand and suggested perhaps the light be placed on a pole south of the concession
stand. He will look further into the possibility.
The meeting adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
