5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Attending: Gay Easton, Bill Staudinger, Jim Flisrand, Mayor Chuck
Rodgers, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
A report on the condition of the parks was given by Jim Flisrand. Jim
has been working with FEMA toncnering the dike repair needed at Riverside
Park. The house at Riverside which is no longer used as a caretakers
residence will be removed later this fall.
Carl Hollabaugh is doing an excellent job at Riverside as caretaker.
A report was given on the pool; it will close Aug. 24. The Laurel
Volunteer Fire Department has requested that the pool be used on
Wednesday, August 27 for wet suit training/rescue. The committee sees no
problem with this but Jim will check with the city attorney concerning the
need for lifeguards, etc.
The area near the batting cage near Athletic Field is in need of weed
cutting and cleaning. The summer crew will take care of this. A building
planned by the baseball organization in that area will help in the future with
such a problem. Jim will talk to the group about clearing away the piles of
top soil and scoria, etc.
Respectfully submitted,
YI?
Donna G. Kilpatrick, chairman
