Attending: Gay Easton, Bill Staudinger, Miles Walton, Dave
Michael, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
Discussion on :
*placing some land of barrier near the sidewalk near the
parking lot on East Eighth St. When school starts it is feared the
students will use the newly installed handicap sidewalks for a drive-off of
the curb onto the street. The committee asked that this suggestion be
considered and studied.
*a letter be sent to the Laurel Baseball Organization, in care
of Pat Kimmett, requesting that the area just north of the batting cage be
cleaned of weeds and debris. The location is where the group proposed
to build a storage building. Mounds of dirt, sand, scoria were left and
weeds are growing there. A suggestion was made by the LBO to make
bins for storing the materials that are needed for the playing area of the
diamond and the committee would like that to happen soon.
*the possibility of installing light poles (one, maybe two) in
the parking area just north of the swimming pool. The area is extremely
dark at night and people have been gathering there recently leaving
much litter.
This will be the last meeting of the.committee on the second
Thursday of the month for the year. Meetings will now be held the fourth
Thursday only. This is due to the fact the busy summer schedule, pool,
recreation program, etc., regularly warrants two meetings a month for
the committee.
