Donna Kilpatrick, chairman.
Others: Kevin Smidt and Gary Groshelle, representing the Laurel
Youth Soccer Association and the Montana Youth Soccer

A review of the youth soccer program was given by Kevin and he
requested the use of the East Eighth St. Softball Complex. Their volunteers
will be willing to clean the area and ready it for use. The comnnittee will
check with the men's softball group who at one time was active, improved the
area and used it for several years. Lately the girls/women softball groups have
been using the complex. Kevin will attend the Oct. 23 meeting of the
committee to find out the results of our study on the use of the complex.
The committee reviewed the leases at Riverside Park. The leases
expire Nov. 30, 1997. They were written for a five year time period for $1.00
per the five-year period. The groups having leases with the city on buildings
in the park are required to maintain the buildings and are responsible for the
utilities and insurance. Jim will write a letter or contact each group and
report his findings to the Oct. 23 meeting of the park committee. Some
discussion was held on increasing the $ 1.00 fee paid by the groups but no
decision was made at this meeting. Leases are held with the American
Legion, Laurel Jaycees. Laurel Rod and Gun Club, the Laurel Rifle Club, the
Laurel Horseshoe Pitching Club, and the Laurel Search and Rescue.
The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
