PARKS COMMITTEE
JUNE 25, 1998 5:30 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Miles Walton Ken Olson

Discussion on liability issues. Bob Worthington of MMIA is indicating that we
should have a policy naming the City of Laurel for 1.5 million. This would be for
anyone consuming alcohol. We may be able to do reduced liability for clubs that
do not sell alcohol.
Smokey brought up the baseball field drag that is in Nutting Park. Larry McCann
will contact the softball team to get it removed.
Discussion on leases. We need to talk to Joe about only extending them until
January 1999. This will give everyone time to address liability issues.
City crews will remove the parking lot on the north side of Thomson Park
sometime this summer.
The next meeting is set for July 9ch at 5:30 p.m.
