PARKS COMMITTEE
SEPTEMBER 24,1998 5:00 P.M.
COUNCIL CHAMBERS
MEMBERS PRESENT: Miles Walton Bill Brennan

Discussion on the asphalt area in Thomson Park. The committee considered
building a mound to keep from removing the asphalt. After consideration of
maintenance costs, the decision was to remove the asphalt and level the area with
topsoil.
Discussion regarding having organizations come to the Parks Committee before
using the parks to maintain control of the parks and coordinate the usage. A
calendar will be set up for tracking activities. Organized sports events and
individuals using any park for more than one day will have to make a presentation
to the Parks Committee.
Discussion regarding requiring an application form for usage of the parks. An
application is needed for events in the parks. Subjects needing to be addressed are
garbage, water, electricity and insurance. Mark Mace is checking with Billings
for a sample application and will give the information to Larry McCann.
The meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for October
22, 1998 at 5:00 p.m.
