COUNCIL CHAMBERS
JULY, 27, 1995

MEMBERS PRESENT:

Minutes of the July 13, 1995, meeting were read and
approved. Correspondence. , Received the minutes of the June
27, 1995, meeting of the Billings Local Governmental Review
Commission. Received a letter from Dr. Gayle Roset to Steve
Cosner. Received the July 26, 1995, agenda for the Billings
Local Governmental Review Commission.
Joe Bradley indicated that he had contacted Don Nelson,
Union President, and invited him and his membership to attend
tonight's meeting. No one from the Union appeared.
. Commission informally discussed the contents of the Billings
meeting and the letter from Dr. Roset.
The Commission discussed charter writing. Ron Marshall
was instructed to find out from the Budget and Finance Committee
what mill levy could the City live with. This mill levy would
have to be adequate enough for the City to finance it's General
Fund obligations. Discussion of inserting a questionnaire into
the monthly water bill. Ron Marshall will check this out.
Members of the Commission will bring sample questions to the
August 10, 1995, meeting.
At the August 10, 1995, the Commission will review tapes
supplied from the Local Government Center in Bozeman.
