Joe Bradley
Correspondence. Received the agenda for the May 9, 1996,
meeting of the Billings Local Governmental Review Commission.
Received the minutes of the May 2, 1996, meeting and the agenda
for the May 9, 1996, meeting of the Yellowstone Local
Governmental Review Commission. The May 2nd minutes of the
County group talk of splitting the county into five districts
with the Laurel area having it's own commissioner. No specific
boundaries were set forth. Ron Marshall was directed to bring
this matter to the attention of the City Council for their input
and comment.
Minutes of the May 6, 1996, meeting were and approved as
corrected. Corrected was the statement that the final report
and public hearing would be held on August 19th. They are due
on or before that date.
The commission reviewed changes that were suggested by
the Local Government Center in Bozeman. After review, Joe
Bradley will get clarification on the following questions;
1. Can the City Council eliminate the
Treasurer's position without and election?
2. Does the City Council have to override
the Mayor's veto at the next meeting or
can it postpone it?
3. Can members of the City Council call
special meetings of the Council?
Joe will try to have answers to these questions for the May
20, 1996 meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Steve Cosner, chairman
