Laurel Airport Authority met at the Owl Cafe at 12:OOPM. Attending the meeting
were Chairman John Smith, Dave Powers, Guy Stormont and Claude Cory Secretary.
` Also attending the meeting was Ron Handle.
Meeting was called to discuss the application of Ron lia?,dle to rezone tile area
where Don Warden has a hanger Run would like to lease and open a Aircraft repair
shop
The most objection to this rezoning was that the ramp area is too sn?a1.1 for air-
craft to be tied down and it is quite a distance from the present ramp to move
planes back and forth to the shop. Ron was asked if lie had tried to purchase
Upperwest Aviation or considered building new hanger in the commercial area.
He said had tried to purchase Unper West but Keith wart. to much money for what
he had. Ile felt it would take him too long to b4 ' Old a new building. By the
time he had it ready for use the season would be over and it would be too much
of a hardship can him. It was also suggested that Ron and Rich get- together
and make a !.rade hanger until other arrangements could ve made.
Dave made a motion that we donot consider rezoning the hanger area to let r_onu?-
ercial business into this area. Commercial business should be kept in the coT,m -
ercial area. Motion was seconded 'by Stormont Motion passed
