March 22, 1983
bjeeting was called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:10PM. In attendance were;
Smith, Cory,. --, and Stormont. Absent were Powers and Olson.
Visitors attending the meeting were Mary McKamy, Bob Redding, Steve Raimiz.
Minutes were read and approved, as read.
First order of business was the discussion of capital improvments. Stormont,
reported on the holding tank. He had a bid 'from McKeever Concrete to build
a concrete tank 4'6" x 4'6" with a 30" hole in the top for $230.00 or 4'6"x
4'6" but 2' deeper for $330.00. It was suggested we go ahead with the hold
tank but to try to arrange for one a little cheaper. Discussion was held on
the fence to keep people away from driv ing on the ramp and runway. It was
suggest it may be better if we could have the Laurel Police Department lock
the gate at the county road late at night, about.10:30 or 11:00PM. This it
was believed would discourage gasoline theivery and driving on the runway
more effectively than the fence. It was reported by Chairman Sgiith that we
would have enough funds to gravel the road. --No report was given on the
snow plow. Stormy reported on a bid for pumping the holding tank. Blaylock
Sewer Service submitted a bid of $65.00 for.each time it had to be pumped. It
was suggested that Stormy contact Bob Frank for a quote on pumping the holding
tank. He will report on this at the next meeting April 26, 1983.
Chairman Smith brought the subject of 15.3 acres of land we lease from the State
of Montana Land Board. They have offered a new ten year lease at $100.00 per
year. After some discussion it was the opinion of those present we could pur-
chase this land for the amount of the ten year lease. More study was re-
commended concerning this lease.
Ultra Lite aircraft regulation were discussed. Since Federal Regulation con-
cerning the operation of these aircraft have not been finalized, it was dis
cided to bring this business at a later date.
No further business meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM,
