LAUREL AIRPORT AUTHORITY COMMITTEE
Date August 23, 1983 Time 7:05 PM
Place of Meeting City Council Chambers
A. Members present: Chairman John Hawley, Guy Stormont, Herbert Olson and
Claude N. Cory Secretary. Absent David Powers.
B. Other present Mary McKamy, Bob Redding Steve Raimiz: Jeff Doty Airport
manager was present.
A quorum of 3 or more was present the following action was taken by the
committee:
Chairman Smith discussed the proposed hangar leases we are offering to
people that want to lease land from the committee and erect a hangar on
the property. At this time the FAA has approved our lease agreement with
hangar owners and it will be offered to all people that wish to erect a
hangar at the airport.
Herb gported on the Ultra Light aircraft regulation which he has been
work' with. He suggested that we were at a point whereby we should a
meeting with Ultra L ight Aircraft owners and discuss patterns and take
offs and landings at the laurel Airport. Dr. Smith stated he has asked
the State of Montana to send them a copy of their regulations for this
committee to study.
Chairman Smith reported that he had bought a tractor mower and a weed
sprayer to use at the airport. The amount of the purchase for both of
the units was $945.00.
The contractor had a overrun of oil from.the I taxi ways and they had him
use this on the north south runways. Dr1 also reported that Stormont
made a suppldmant cone to be used at the airport.
Keith Fitchett asked about him putting a mobile home some place on the
airport for his living quarters. County health office has been consulted
concerning this and they see-mad to have no Dbjactions unless we charged
him rent witho??it some other service be preformed, such as acting as a
security guard to the airport. It appeared that this was thought to be
a good by the other m-;?mbars of the committee.

Smith reported that we about to erected a security fence from the parking
ramp south westernly corner to the fence along the county road.
Bob Wedding brought up about the responsiblity of aircraft damaged during
a sevre wind storm such as happened at the Billings recently. This is some-
thing that need to be checked with insurance companies.
No further business meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
