HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Airport Authority Minutes 09.27.1983MINUTES OF THE LAUREL AUTHORITY September 27, 1983 Meeting was called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:20 PM September 27, 1983. Attending the meeting were John Smith, David Powers, Claude Cory. Guy Stormont attended and was excused because of illness. Herb Olson was absent. Visitors attending were Mary McKamy, Steve Ramirez, Charles Fischer of Ace Electric, and Larry Wyman. Chairman Smith read correspondence approving the mobile site at the airport. We cannot charged rent for the mobile space but can receive services in,_lieu of rent. Chairman also reported that the runway needed to marked, holding was installed at a cost of $540.00, and perk test were completed. He also stated that the well had to have a new pump installed. The cost to replace the pump was $1,000. The REA has been notified to remove the old service and connect the new service. Larry Wyman reported on the new construction work at the airport. He stated that the lights were all in and the new constant regulator has not been shipped to Laurel as far as he knew. As soon as the new reg- ulator was received the--work would be finished in about three days. Ace Electric asked for a additional three weeks extention because of the delay in the regulator and the general contractor was slow complet=ing some o his work. He felt he could have the work done by October 7, 1983. Dave Powers made a motion that we grant the extension, seconded by Claud Cory. Motion carried. Wyman reported that Long Construction had to do some grading along the shoulders of the runway and some soft spots on the turn around area. These would be completed to engineers satisfactions before final payment. Mary McKamy reported that the concrete ramp on the northside of her hail hanger had been broken by a large truck driving accross the ramp. Wyman said he would get in touch with Long Construction and inform them of the situation. Mr. Moore brought up about the fuel situation again. He feels that we are loosing perment aircraft owns because they cannot get fuel for their arrcraft at the Laurel Airport. He would like to install a fueling system at the Laurel Airport.
