October 25, 1983
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:10 PM. Attending
the meeting was Herb Olson, Guy Stormont and Claude Cory. Dave Powers
was absent.
Visitors attending were Steve Ramirez, Mary MdKamj, Bob Redding and
Larry Wyman.
Minutes were read and approved. _ _
Firs*_ order of business was a review a-dd-study of the restriction for
the :4:)bile dome Park. All test have been completed and the County has
approved the Mobile Hove Park at the Laurel Airport. Herb Olson made
a motion we approve the restriction as suggested by the FAA, seconded
by Claude. Motion passed.
Chairman Smith reported that the fence and gates were up. The road
is graveled. He next stated that he would like to build a equipment
building to store the airport equipment when not in use. He thought
a building about 32' by 32' would be erected for about $4,:000.00. He
thoughe a good place to erect a buildin of this type would be accross
the road from the fixed base operators parking lot. Chairman also re-
ported that Bob Frank had been hired to pump the holding tank.
Chairman Smith stated that the airport authority must join the fire
district in order to receive fire protection fro-a the City of Laurel.
The police will have to have a written agreement to provide protection
at the a irport, the City of Laurel will 10_ pay for repairs on the
well pimp and it is unknown at this tima if the City of Laurel will
pickup garabage at the airport.
Herb reported that he will on No-.,amber 2-, 1983 the snowplow into
Jere Quinn's shop and repair the snowplow.
