July 29, 1986
C Meeting was called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:00 PM. Guy Stormont, Dave
Powers, Claude Cory were present. Kent Harris was absent.
Harold Hanke, Ron Waterman fran the FAA were present as well as Mary McKamy,
Terry Fatzinger, Richard Hereim, Dan Moore, Bill Milligan,and Dennis Burhhactmeir.
Chairman Smith on sane violation reported by the FAA personnel. D-0 Aviation
needs a new fueling hose on one of the pumps, Ag operator is parking on the
ramp in front of the ramp in front of maintenance hanger and on East end of run-
way 21.
Beartooth Ultra Lite Aviation was denied use of the Laurel Airport. Bill
Milligan said that they would obey all regulation, wind less 15 miles per hour,
and observe laurel Airport traffic pattern. Mr. Hanke flight standards FAA says
Ultra Lights could use the laurel Airport and not use runway 21 or 31. Hanke
asked could the Ultra Lights use runway 9 and 27, the turf runway North of run-
way 3 and 21. Bill Milligan asked who would do the work that would make it possible
for then to get the Ultra Lights accroc the ditch to the runway 9/27. He was
Ron Waterman FAA Air Safety remarked that he didnot like us to force the Ultra
Lights to use the runway in a unsafe manner which if they chose to fly expermental
aircraft off the Laurel Airport. He is of the opinion we would be better if
we made a runway fo their own away from the runways used by conventional aircraft.
Notion by Claude we allow the Ultra Lights to use runway 9/27 and that we would
establish d traffic pattern away from the runway 3/21 so that they would interfer
with conventional aircraft using runwaa 3/21. Cost of fixing taxiway to runway
9/27 would borne by Ultra Lights aaners. Notification would sent that Ultra lites
are using the Laurel Airport. Second by Dave Powers, Notion passed.
Nofurther business to came before the authority motion by Dave Powers and
sceond by Guy Stormont we adjourned. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
