MINUTES OF THE LAUREL AIRPORT AUTHORITY

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:38 PM.,A All members
present.
People attending the meeting were Jim Fels of HK4 engineering firm, Mel
Teinsmld, and Terry Fatzinger.
First order of business was approval of the minutes of the last meeting,
minute were read and approved as read.
There was discussion concerning the wind tee and apparently it has to be
moved from its present location to a new location on the airport. After
some discussion it was decided to move it to the location near the beacon
as this appeared the only logically to locate the wind tee.

Dave Powers reported on the Ford 9N tractor with a broom attachment and
it was Dave's opinion it was in good condition and the brown would need a
new brush at $350.00, new tires on the tractor at $250.00. The asking price
for the tractor with the broom is $1,000.00 and Dave expressed his opinion
that we offer $800.00 and it would be a good buy at $800.00. With the re-
prears it would cost about $1,200.00. It was the opinion of some members
of the board that our budget was a little tight and perhaps we should table
this and bra it up again later this fall..
The engineering contract was brought for approval. Bill Brenner made motion
we approve the HKM contract to act as the engineering firm the the Laurel
airport authority for the next year. Seconded by Dave Powers. Motion passed.
Next was the opening of bids for contract work to be cempleted at the Laurel
Airport during 1987. Two bids were submitted by contractors. Empire Sand
and Gravel of Billings of ';'$92,650.50 for Schedule A and 169,692.10 for Sche-
dule B for a total of A & B of $262;,342.60 and Schedule C was $50,971.00.
Midland O'Leazy Contractors as follows; Schedule A $123,698.25, Schedule B
was $244, 194.20 total A&B $367,892.45 Schedule C at $64,344.20.
The engineering estimates were Achedule A $133,853.50, Schedule B 323,668.50.
total A&B 457,522.00, Schedule C $59,304.00. Total estimate of $516,826.00.
Empire Sand and Gravel had low bid of $313,313.60, second law bid $432,236.65.
Bids will be reviewed by the engineering firm and awared at a later date.
The suimiary of the bids is attached to these minutes. Only bids received
by Eight O,C1ock (8:00) PM were accepted.
